Kentucky cook-offs

Kentucky's BBQ tradition is unique — Owensboro is home to the International Bar-B-Q Festival each May, the only major mutton BBQ contest in the country. Elsewhere across the state, KCBS-sanctioned pork and chicken contests run May through October, and the bourbon-country smoking culture infuses many of the smaller fair-grounds events.
